Volunteering

We all want a job that’s interesting and rewarding. An opportunity which means we actually look forward to coming to work and where we feel our efforts really do make a difference. But do jobs like that exist?

Yes, they do when you work for a charity. Email fundraising@uhs.nhs.uk to enquire about volunteering for the Charity.

Collection tin coordinator

Help us to manage and maintain the many collection tins out and about within your local area. You can also help us to get our collection tins into local shops, gyms, pubs, etc, before you then send the money back to us.

We also need help in putting posters advertising our events up around local shops and noticeboards.

Collection Tin Coordinator at Southampton Hospitals Charity

Volunteer at events

Help us to run stalls selling cakes, merchandise and gifts at the hospital or within your local community at farmers’ markets and village fetes. We also have several large charity events every year that we need help to put on, so please get in touch if you can spare a few hours.

Cheer team

Our runners and challengers always say how our cheer team can help give them that vital boost to see them pass the finish line. Take a look at our events list to see if you are in the area and can cheer on any of our fundraisers.

Volunteer for the hospital

Volunteering at the Trust is enriching, rewarding and inspiring, which is why there are around 1,000 volunteers working within the hospital. They make a real difference to the experience of our patients and visitors. Discover more about their roles here.
