New Forest Marathon races

Experience the beauty of the New Forest National Park as you take on the Garmin New Forest Marathon. With a range of distances to suit every ability—from a gentle woodland walk to a full marathon—this event offers something for everyone.
All routes will start and finish from New Park Showground, Brockenhurst, and wind through the heart of the New Forest National Park. The multi-terrain courses offer some of the most scenic running experiences in the country, with a blend of compact gravel, trail sections, and tarmac.
How to take part
To join, simply:
- Register for your chosen race/distance through the official Garmin New Forest Marathon event page.
- Set up a JustGiving fundraising page, selecting Southampton Hospitals Charity as your chosen cause.
- Start training and fundraising—our team will be here to support you every step of the way!

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I park my car when arriving on race day?
New Park Showground has extensive parking on site only a short walk from the Race Village and Start/Finish area so there’s plenty of room for runners and spectators alike. The car park will be £5 for the day and can be purchased when signing up.
Alternatively, a shuttle bus service will operate from Brockenhurst Railway Station to New Park Showground (Race Village/Start and Finish area) on a 20-minute loop from 7.00am – 5.00pm. The cost will be £5 one way, or £7 return.
Do I need to collect my race pack?
All runners will be sent their Race Packs to their registered address by late August so you receive them in good time for the event. Those signing up after this date will need to collect their Race Packs from the Registration Marquee located in the Race Village.
Do all finishers receive a medal and a T-shirt?
Everyone crossing the finish line will receive a New Forest Marathon Medal for the distance they have completed and a finisher’s T-Shirt. These will be given out in the finish funnel area by one of our amazing community groups.
What time do the Races/Events start?
The New Forest Marathon Race start times will be:
- 9.30am – Full Marathon*
- 10.20am – Half Marathon*
- 10.55am – Woodland Walk*
- 10.55am – 10k*
- 11.15am – 5k*
These are subject to change and may differ slightly, final start times are to be confirmed in July 2025*
