Appeal success during breastfeeding celebration week

It’s Breastfeeding Celebration Week (22-26 June 2021)! This year’s theme is encouraging the wider family to support with breastfeeding.

The Charity see ourselves as part of the University Hospital Southampton family, so are proud to announce this week that, thanks to your support, we have been able to fully fund the creation of a dedicated breastfeeding room at Royal South Hants Hospital in Southampton.

Our midwives go above and beyond every single day. They are passionate about what they do.

Supporting women and their families through one of the most amazing times in their life is incredible, and it’s a privilege to be a part of the experience!

We are delighted that Charity supporters were able to help create a dedicated breastfeeding room within Royal South Hants Hospital. It will offer new mums the privacy they often want while breastfeeding, and will help to nurture the bond between mother and child.” – Rachel Harris, Broadlands Birth Centre & Southampton Community Midwifery Matron.

This new room will include a comfortable breastfeeding chair, a changing station for the babies, and some soft furnishings to make the room warm and inviting.

It will nurture the bond between new mothers and their newborn babies, and give them privacy away from other outpatients.

Thank you for your support!
