Staff wellbeing and training

Southampton Hospitals Charity is proud to offer a range of funding throughout 2024 – 2027 for the benefit of UHS staff via annual allocations to the Trust. Individual staff members / departments can request support from the relevant budget holder as laid out below.

Our annual staff education, training, and wellbeing programme has been developed in partnership with UHS and will support projects identified by UHS leadership as strategically important for the Trust. All applications for staff funding must be made via the Trust.

Southampton Hospitals Charity aims to support staff projects that:

  • Improve staff wellbeing (small ideas, collaborative initiatives and awareness campaigns)
  • Enhance education and training access (particularly in underfunded staff groups)
  • Improve the Trust’s EDI journey
  • Improve the environment within prioritised staff areas

Staff Training and Education

Southampton Hospitals Charity Staff Training and Education Programme will provide an annual grant to UHS to support staff training and education.

For more information on our Staff Training and Education Programme please refer to StaffNet.

Staff members can download an application form and email it to your divisional education lead. Please note that decisions on individual applications are made by decision makers at the Trust, and not by the Charity.

Staff Wellbeing

Our Staff Wellbeing Programme will provide a grant to fund the following projects and initiatives:

  • Staff wellbeing
    • This is administered by the staff wellbeing steering group. Please complete this form and email in to wellbeing@uhs.nhs.uk for your project to be considered.
      • Items that are in scope include: Domestic items such as microwaves, fridges, kettles, small wellbeing items to benefit as many staff as possible, recognition and celebration for staff groups (e.g. International Nurses Day).
  • Annual Trust Staff Awards “We Are UHS”

For more information on these initiatives, please refer to StaffNet. Please note that decisions about allocating this funding to individual projects are made by the Trust, and the Charity does not have an influence.
