Surprise Transformers visit to children’s hospital
Optimus Prime and fellow Autobot BumbleBee from the hit franchise Transformers made a surprise visit to Southampton Children’s Hospital today.
The spectacular truck, the character’s incarnation before he transforms into a giant robot, was a hit as children from the various children’s wards jumped at the opportunity to have a look at the vehicles and pose for photos!
Charlie Fielding, 4, is currently being treated on the Piam Brown children’s cancer ward for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. He loves everything Transformers, so this was be a very special occasion to meet some characters from his favourite programme. Dad, Jamie, comments:
It is nice to give Charlie a treat given everything he has been through in the last few months, and the fact the experience could be offered to other children and parents going through the same thing means a lot.”
We were so surprised to be given a goodie bag from Hasbro with posters, toys and limited edition collectables. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made today possible, and hope that everyone else enjoyed themselves as much as Charlie!”
We want to thank Hasbro UK for working in partnership with us and Southampton Children’s Hospital to make this visit possible. The smiles on the children’s faces just said it all when they met the Transformers. The difference this has made to their day, it will truly be a memory they will remember for years to come.”
