Paultons Park partners with children’s hospital
Southampton Hospital Charity and Paultons Park have announced a new three-year partnership to help raise £70,000 needed to refurbish and equip a specialist sensory retreat for patients at Southampton Children’s Hospital.
Launching this week, with Paultons Park kick-starting the funding with a £10,000 donation, the partnership aims to have a positive impact on the lives of the children and young people receiving treatment.
Southampton Children’s Hospital is the sixth-largest children’s hospital in the country and one of only four which provides all specialist services on one site.
Throughout the duration of the partnership Paultons Park will be supporting the Charity by donating a percentage of the sales from select retail items in their gift shop and ticket sales to their first Gardens Open Evening taking place on 9 July. Members of staff at the park will also be leading their own initiatives and fundraising efforts.
Jeneen Thomsen, Head of Major Gifts at Southampton Hospital Charity, said,
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Paultons Park and excited to see how it develops in the next three years. Like Paultons, we strive to be the best in everything we do, and the funds received will go a long way to refurbishing the sensory retreat room and providing a much needed space for children and young adults to gain some privacy, watch a movie or take their mind off their hospital stay.”
Speaking about the partnership, Paultons Park HR Director Sara Mancey said,
Paultons Park is delighted to name Southampton Hospital Charity as its nominated charity partner for the next three years. The hospital carries out vital work to improve the wellbeing of children – and by association, their families – from across Hampshire and beyond. It’s a truly worthy cause which, as a family-focused business, Paultons Park is honoured to be associated with.”
