Honoured by HRH Duke of Cambridge

Earlier this week, our Patient Support Hub Manager Emma Squires was honoured to speak with HRH The Duke of Cambridge as Patron of NHS Charities Together, to discuss the impact of the hub for patients and their families.

Funded by Southampton Hospitals Charity, NHS Charities Together and the National Lottery Community Fund, Emma shared how she and the volunteer led team have supported patients throughout the pandemic, with some referring to it as a ‘lifeline to the outside world’.

Emma Squires said:

I am beyond honoured to have spent time taking to the Duke of Cambridge today, discussing the work of the Patient Support Hub at University Hospital Southampton.

Sharing our vision for the future was exciting, but also it was an opportunity to reflect on how much we have achieved as a team, and how many people’s lives we have positively impacted upon to date.”

Further information about the full services offered to patients through the Patient Support Hub can be found here.
