Hampshire Cricket launch second auction

Hampshire Cricket are delighted to launch a second charity auction, helping to raise further funds for Southampton Hospitals Charity.

Following the overwhelming popularity of the first auction’s lots which attracted generous bids of more than £15,500, more than 25 new items are open for bidding with items including a seven-night Caribbean holiday, exclusive experiences, and a range of signed memorabilia.

The auctions are part of a number of fundraising initiatives implemented through a partnership between Hampshire Cricket and University Hospital Southampton, efforts which resulted in a donation of more than £50,000 being made to Southampton Hospitals Charity last year.

These funds have directly supported the construction of a new rehabilitation space at University Hospital Southampton’s General Intensive Care Unit, enhancing the care, experience and outcomes for thousands of patients at the facility.

“We’re delighted to be raising funds for such a worthwhile cause and very grateful to everyone who has supported the online auction. It’s very important to us to be able to support key community projects such as this, and we will be continuing our efforts through the course of the summer and hoping to raise as much as we can to help fund completion of the project.” – David Mann, Hampshire Cricket Chief Executive Officer

“We are so grateful to Hampshire Cricket for their continued support of our Rehabilitation space in our General Intensive Care Unit (GICU) appeal at UHS. Our GICU has been under immense pressure throughout the pandemic and the lack of rehabilitation space to aid patients’ recovery has become more apparent. This donation means that we’re another step closer in realising our goal to create a better hospital experience for thousands of patients.” – Jeneen Thomsen, Interim Joint Director at Southampton Hospitals Charity

Hampshire Cricket are further demonstrating its support this season with all profits from 2021 playing kits sales donated to Southampton Hospitals Charity.
