Festive ward competition winners

Every year we hold a festive ward decoration competition for our hospitals to get involved with. Whilst this year it has been more difficult to arrange due to necessary infection prevention measures, our incredible staff have risen to the challenge and created some truly festive masterpieces!

We were fortunate enough to have David French, CEO for University Hospital Southampton, to present the top three prizes, along with Beth Hall and Cath Jordan from Southampton Hospitals Charity.

Our winners of the ward and department competition are the Royal South Hants prep team.

They went all out creating Santa with his sleigh, a postbox for all the letters to Santa, chimney complete with fire, as well many other festive decorations in the office.

Our runners up were the Acute Surgical Team and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Pictured here, the Acute Surgical Team created a wonderful reception area and fireplace display.

So festive!

And here you can see that our Cardiac intensive care unit made good use of leftover packing by creating this inventive snowman scene using plastic bubble wrap!

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our ward decoration competition.

You have truly made our hospital magical this festive season.
