Animal assisted intervention helps children in theatres

‘Leo Goes to Theatre’ is a joint initiative between the Youth and Play Services and Animal Assisted Intervention teams at Southampton Children’s Hospital.

The short film highlights the journey to the operating theatre that a child or young person takes and Leo shows this in a fun and non-threatening way. Using the human-animal bond in this way means the message is easier for patients to follow and we hope will help many patients.

Thanks to the Southampton Hospital Charity who funded this project.
